Generac Protector Series: Liquid-Cooled Generators

Generac Protector Series Sales

LTG Electric LLC is proud to be an Elite Generac Sales Dealer, offering competitive pricing on Generac generators, specifically the Protector Series, which ranges from 22kW to 150kW. This series features advanced liquid-cooled generators, designed to meet higher electrical demands and provide longer run times than traditional air-cooled standby generators. The durability and consistent performance of liquid-cooled generators make them an ideal choice for larger homes, estates, and light commercial applications that require reliable backup power solutions for whole buildings.

As an Elite Generac dealer, LTG Electric LLC assists customers in selecting the appropriately sized Protector Series generator based on their electrical load requirements, ensuring dependable coverage for critical systems such as heating and cooling equipment, well pumps, refrigeration, sump pumps, medical equipment, and other essential electrical loads. These Generac generators are engineered to handle prolonged outages while maintaining stable voltage output and efficient operation.

Protector Series generators come equipped with robust automotive-style liquid-cooled engines, which provide enhanced longevity and quieter operation compared to many air-cooled models. These generators are particularly well-suited for applications where continuous or frequent backup power is essential. Their durable aluminum enclosures resist corrosion and withstand the harsh New England weather conditions, making them a reliable solution for standby power in demanding environments.

LTG Electric LLC collaborates closely with Generac to offer competitive pricing and product availability, ensuring customers can obtain high-quality backup power solutions that align with their needs and budget. As an Elite Generac Sales Dealer, LTG Electric provides expert guidance throughout the generator selection process, helping customers choose equipment that delivers dependable performance and long-term value.

Generac Protector Series generators are specifically designed for homeowners and businesses seeking reliable, high-capacity backup power supported by proven engineering and industry-leading technology. LTG Electric LLC is committed to delivering professional sales support to help customers invest in a standby generator system that provides peace of mind during power outages.

Generac Protector Series Startups

Generac Protector Series Startup by Certified Technician (22kW–150kW)

LTG Electric LLC offers professional startup services executed by a Generac Certified Protector Series Technician, ensuring your generator operates correctly and adheres to Generac warranty requirements. Proper startup is essential for verifying correct installation, confirming system performance, and ensuring reliable operation during a power outage. Our certified technicians follow manufacturer guidelines and conduct a detailed commissioning process, making sure the generator is prepared for dependable service as a reliable backup power solution.

During the startup, the generator will be run under actual building load for at least one hour to verify performance, stability, and proper system operation. Additional run time can be accommodated upon request. All major system components are meticulously inspected and tested to confirm proper installation and functionality.

Startup procedures include, but are not limited to:

• Verify that the installer has completed all necessary electrical connections

• Run the generator under building load for a minimum of 1 hour

• Verify proper voltages on DC control circuits

• Inspect all electrical connections for proper termination and tightness

• Check engine fluids, including oil and coolant levels

• Inspect the generator and engine for any fuel, oil, or coolant leaks

• Verify proper gas system installation, including pipe sizing, regulator distance, and fuel pressures (both static and under load)

• Inspect louvers and ventilation systems to ensure proper airflow and operation

• Connect and test the battery

• Verify alternator operation and battery charging circuit performance

• Register the generator and transfer switch with Generac

• Start the generator and confirm proper voltage output, amperage draw, and operating frequency

• Calibrate generator output to match building voltage requirements

• Inspect transfer switch wiring and connections

• Verify voltage, frequency, and amperage readings at the transfer switch

• Perform transfer switch tests under building load to confirm proper operation

• Document all findings for customer records and warranty compliance

If any installation issues arise that cannot be resolved during the initial startup visit, an additional visit may be necessary after the required modifications have been made. Items that may need correction prior to successful startup can include, but are not limited to:

• Improper gas pipe sizing, excessive piping distance, or incorrect fuel pressure

• AC voltage interference on DC control wiring due to non-shielded cables for wires 23, 0, and 193

• Battery charger circuit not installed on a dedicated circuit with a properly isolated neutral for the T1 circuit

• Generator location not meeting minimum clearance requirements from windows, doors, or vents (minimum 5 feet)

Having the startup performed by a Generac Certified Protector Series Technician ensures the generator is properly commissioned, operates as designed, and meets Generac warranty requirements. This proper startup also helps identify potential issues early, minimizing the risk of unexpected downtime and ensuring the generator is ready to deliver reliable backup power when needed.

Additional Note:

Generator load banks are available upon request if the building load is insufficient to properly test the generator. Load bank testing is offered for 22kW–150kW Protector Series generators at an additional cost depending on generator size and the duration of load bank operation. Load bank testing enables the generator to be effectively exercised under controlled load conditions, confirming performance and proper operation, especially for liquid-cooled generators.

Generac Protector Series Service

Generac Protector Series generators, renowned for their reliability as backup power solutions, should be serviced by a Generac Certified Protector Series Technician. These technicians are factory trained and maintain current certification through Generac. The advanced systems of Generac generators require specialized knowledge, software access, and manufacturer-specific diagnostic procedures for proper maintenance and repair. Utilizing a certified technician ensures that service is completed correctly, safely, and in accordance with Generac standards.

Having a certified technician perform service often allows repairs to be completed during the same visit, significantly reducing generator downtime and minimizing inconvenience. Certified technicians are trained to quickly diagnose issues, perform warranty repairs, and make necessary adjustments without the delays that can occur when additional authorization or follow-up appointments are needed. In many cases, working with a certified technician helps avoid multiple service visits that may otherwise be required to bring in properly qualified personnel.

Furthermore, certified technicians maintain access to Generac technical support resources, service bulletins, and commonly required replacement parts, allowing issues to be resolved more efficiently. This is particularly crucial for liquid-cooled generators, ensuring your generator is properly repaired and returned to service as quickly as possible, especially when backup power is critical for heating systems, refrigeration, medical equipment, or business operations.

At LTG Electric LLC, we provide Generac Protector Series service performed by certified technicians, qualified to complete maintenance, diagnostics, and warranty repairs. Our goal is to ensure your Generac generators remain reliable, operate as designed, and are ready to run whenever utility power is unavailable, while minimizing downtime and avoiding unnecessary repeat service visits.
