Generac Protector Series Sales

LTG Electric LLC is an Elite Generac Sales Dealer, offering competitive pricing on Generac Protector Series generators ranging from 22kW to 150kW. The Protector Series features liquid-cooled engines, designed for higher electrical demands and longer run times compared to traditional air-cooled standby generators. Liquid-cooled generators are built for durability and consistent performance, making them an excellent choice for larger homes, estates, and light commercial applications that require dependable whole-building backup power.

As an Elite Generac dealer, LTG Electric LLC can help customers select the properly sized Protector Series generator based on electrical load requirements, ensuring reliable coverage for critical systems such as heating and cooling equipment, well pumps, refrigeration, sump pumps, medical equipment, and other essential electrical loads. Protector Series generators are designed to handle extended outages while maintaining stable voltage output and efficient operation.

Protector Series generators are engineered with robust automotive-style liquid-cooled engines that provide improved longevity and quieter operation when compared to many air-cooled models. These generators are well suited for applications where continuous or frequent backup power is necessary. Their durable aluminum enclosures help resist corrosion and withstand harsh New England weather conditions, making them a reliable solution for standby power in demanding environments.

Generac Protector Series Startups

Generac Protector Series Startup by Certified Technician (22kW–150kW)

LTG Electric LLC provides professional startup services performed by a Generac Certified Protector Series Technician to ensure your generator is operating properly and in compliance with Generac warranty requirements. Proper startup is critical for verifying correct installation, confirming system performance, and ensuring reliable operation during a power outage. Our certified technicians follow manufacturer guidelines and perform a detailed commissioning process to confirm the generator is ready for dependable service.

During startup, the generator will be operated under actual building load for a minimum of one hour to verify performance, stability, and proper system operation. Additional run time can be provided if requested. All major system components are carefully inspected and tested to confirm proper installation and functionality.

Startup procedures include, but are not limited to:

• Verify installer has completed all required electrical connections
• Run generator under building load for a minimum of 1 hour
• Verify proper voltages on DC control circuits
• Inspect all electrical connections for proper termination and tightness
• Check engine fluids including oil and coolant levels
• Inspect generator and engine for fuel, oil, or coolant leaks
• Verify proper gas system installation including pipe sizing, regulator distance, and fuel pressures (static and under load)
• Inspect louvers and ventilation systems for proper airflow and operation
• Connect and test battery
• Verify alternator operation and battery charging circuit performance
• Register generator and transfer switch with Generac
• Start generator and confirm proper voltage output, amperage draw, and operating frequency
• Calibrate generator output to match building voltage requirements
• Inspect transfer switch wiring and connections
• Verify voltage, frequency, and amperage readings at the transfer switch
• Perform transfer switch test under building load to confirm proper operation
• Document all findings for customer records and warranty compliance

If installation issues are identified that cannot be corrected during the initial startup visit, an additional visit may be required after necessary modifications are completed. Items that may require correction prior to successful startup may include, but are not limited to:

• Improper gas pipe sizing, excessive piping distance, or incorrect fuel pressure
• AC voltage interference on DC control wiring due to non-shielded cables for wires 23, 0, and 193
• Battery charger circuit not installed on a dedicated circuit with properly isolated neutral for the T1 circuit
• Generator location not meeting minimum clearance requirements from windows, doors, or vents (minimum 5 feet)

Having startup performed by a Generac Certified Protector Series Technician helps ensure the generator is properly commissioned, operates as designed, and meets Generac warranty requirements. Proper startup also helps identify potential issues early, reducing the risk of unexpected downtime and helping ensure the generator is ready to provide reliable backup power when needed.

 Additional Note:
Generator load banks can be provided upon request if building load is not sufficient to properly test the generator. Load bank testing is available for 22kW–150kW Protector Series generators at an additional cost based on generator size and the amount of time the load bank is required to operate. Load bank testing allows the generator to be properly exercised under controlled load conditions to verify performance and proper operation.

Generac Protector Series Service

Generac Protector Series generators should be serviced by a Generac Certified Protector Series Technician who is factory trained and maintains current certification through Generac. These generators are advanced systems that require specialized knowledge, software access, and manufacturer-specific diagnostic procedures to properly maintain and repair. Using a certified technician helps ensure service is completed correctly, safely, and in accordance with Generac standards.

Having a certified technician perform service often allows repairs to be completed during the same visit, reducing generator downtime and minimizing inconvenience. Certified technicians are trained to quickly diagnose issues, perform warranty repairs, and make necessary adjustments without delays that can occur when additional authorization or follow-up appointments are required. In many cases, working with a certified technician helps avoid multiple service visits that may otherwise be needed to bring in properly qualified personnel.

Certified technicians also maintain access to Generac technical support resources, service bulletins, and commonly required replacement parts, allowing issues to be resolved more efficiently. This helps ensure your generator is properly repaired and returned to service as quickly as possible, especially important when backup power is critical for heating systems, refrigeration, medical equipment, or business operations.

LTG Electric LLC provides Generac Protector Series service performed by certified technicians, qualified to complete maintenance, diagnostics, and warranty repairs. Our goal is to ensure your generator remains reliable, operates as designed, and is ready to run whenever utility power is unavailable, while minimizing downtime and avoiding unnecessary repeat service visits.
